About Young Studio

We are a small footwear and clothing label based in Guangzhou, Guangdong. We design a limited range of everyday pieces, make them with factories we visit every week, and sell them directly — no middlemen, no logo markup.

How we started

Young was founded in 2024 as a footwear label. Guangzhou is a city where a remarkable share of what the world wears has been made at some point, and Shijing — the district our office sits in — is one of its garment and footwear centres, which made it a straightforward place to learn the trade: tanneries, sole moulders and stitching workshops are all within an hour of the studio.

The first collection was six styles of leather sneakers and boots. Clothing came a year later, largely because customers kept asking what to wear with them.

How we work

Our design team sits in Guangzhou. We develop every style in-house, taking references from music, art and street culture rather than from last season's runway, and we sample each piece three or four times before it goes into production. Production runs with partner factories across Guangdong that we have worked with since the beginning.

We keep runs small on purpose. Fabric weights, leather grades and construction details are listed on every product page, because a 240gsm jersey and a 160gsm jersey are not the same garment and should not be sold as if they were.

What we make

Footwear is still the core of the range: leather sneakers, chelsea and desert boots, loafers and derbies. Around it we produce heavyweight cotton jersey, brushed fleece, linen shirting and cotton twill bottoms — pieces that work with the shoes rather than competing with them.
